Amb. of Belgium will inaugurate the exhibition of the caricaturist Descheemeaker in Cairo

The Ambassador of Belgium in Egypt, HE François Cornet d’Elzius, and the artist Jalal Gomaa will inaugurate an exhibition of cartoons by the Belgian artist “Luc Descheemaekerat Beit Jalal in Abdeen Square, Cairo on Thursday, February 10.

The exhibition is curated by Beit Jalal, in cooperation with Egypt Cartoon Blog, and brings together 25 sculptural works of art, highlighting many issues facing the world, including the Corona outbreak, social media and other subjects.

Born in 1955, the Belgian cartoonist lives in Turnhout, near Brussels, the Belgian capital.

Throughout his distinguished career, Descheemaeker has won 270 international awards, held personal cartoon exhibitions in Brazil, Slovakia, Poland and Belgium, participated in hundreds of international cartoon exhibitions and was a member of the jury of many festivals and caricature competitions in Belgium, Brazil and Croatia. , Slovakia, Iran, Izmir and Turkey.

The event will be attended by a group of seasoned cartoonists and those interested in the art of caricature, media, and the public.

The exhibition, curated by artist Samir Abdel Ghani and artist Fawzy Morsy, will take place from today until February 15, 2022.
